Our Vision

 The Future for African Youth Foundation aims to:

Improve education and health care for disadvantaged children in rural Africa.“

FAY Foundation strives to achieve this aim by: improving the quality of secondary schools at village level, including modernization of education and facilities  improving the quality of health centers at village level, including modernization of care and facilities raising awareness of disadvantaged children in rural Africa to the Dutch public.

Values

Local knowledge

In every project, we have a team of local volunteers providing knowledge of local circumstances and capacity to execute the project on the ground. They are actively involved in the project from identification until finalization.

Participation

A vital condition in our projects is the support of the local community. If possible, we aim for community participation in realizing the project, through financial contributions, voluntary labour or other ways.

Effectiveness

We only work in places familiar to the Board or volunteers, for us to guarantee that all donations can be closely monitored and directly benefit the project. Secondly, a project must be small-scale in order to be manageable and controllable.

Public support

We raiseawareness and public support in the Netherlands for each project, for example at Dutch schools. This is meant to contribute to the image of disadvantaged children in Africa and the importance of their future outlook.
